Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how RecNow (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

1. Analytics Data

The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to improve the app experience:

• When a recording starts and ends
• Recording settings used (video resolution, audio source, countdown length)
• Recording length and the reason a recording ended
• Whether premium features are active
• Device type and operating system version

This data is collected automatically and cannot be used to identify you personally. The contents of your recordings are never included in analytics data.

2. Local Data

The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Video files you record, saved to Movies/RecNow in your device’s media storage
• App settings and preferences

Screen and Audio Recording

RecNow records your screen and, if you choose, audio. This is the core function of the app, and it works entirely on your device.

• Screen capture starts only after you grant Android’s screen recording permission, and Android shows an ongoing indicator while it is active.
• Microphone permission is requested whenever you select any audio source, including system audio only. Android requires the same permission to capture system audio as it does for the microphone. When you record system audio only, the microphone itself is never used to capture sound. If you record without audio, the permission is not requested at all.
• Recordings are written directly to your device’s storage. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to us.
• You can delete any recording from within the app or from your device’s gallery at any time.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts or calendar data
• Payment or financial information
• The contents of your screen recordings or audio

Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics (Privacy Policy)
• Google Play Billing (Privacy Policy)

Advertising

RecNow does not display any advertisements. We do not use any advertising SDKs.

In-App Purchases

RecNow offers an in-app purchase that unlocks premium features. Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details - we only receive confirmation of whether a purchase is active.

Data Security

Your recordings and settings are stored on your device using Android’s standard media and app storage. We operate no servers and hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to access or disclose.

Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

• Delete recordings: Remove any recording from within the app or from your device’s gallery
• Delete local data: Uninstalling the app removes its settings. Recordings saved to Movies/RecNow remain in your device’s storage until you delete them
• Analytics data cannot identify you: The usage data we collect is anonymous and aggregated. It contains no name, email, account, or device identifier that could be traced back to you, and it never includes the contents of your recordings. There is nothing personally identifiable for us to look up, export, or delete on request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
