Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how iTool Mouser (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) handles your information when you use our Chrome extension.

The short version: the extension collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. Everything below explains that in detail.

Information We Collect

None. The extension does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit any user data.

Local Settings

The following is stored on your device only, using Chrome’s local storage. It never leaves your computer:

• Which action each gesture runs
• Trail color, thickness, and whether the trail and action name are shown
• The gesture key setting
• The list of sites where you turned gestures off
• Your chosen search address

You can export these settings to a file or reset them at any time from the options page.

Website Access

The extension requests access to all websites. This is required because a mouse gesture must be recognized on whatever page you are currently reading - there is no way to know in advance which sites you will use it on.

On each page, the extension only:

• Listens for mouse button, mouse movement, and wheel events
• Draws the gesture trail and the action name on a canvas overlay

It does not read, store, or transmit page content, form input, or browsing history.

Search Requests

When you select text and use the rocker gesture over it, the extension opens a new tab with your chosen search engine and the selected text as the query. This happens only when you perform that gesture.

The selected text goes directly from your browser to the search engine you picked (Google or Naver by default, or any address you configure). We never see it, and it is not stored anywhere by the extension.

Searches you run this way are subject to the privacy policy of that search engine:

• Google Search (Privacy Policy)
• Naver Search (Privacy Policy)

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Browsing history or the URLs you visit
• Page content, text you type, or form data
• Location data
• Cookies or login credentials
• Analytics or usage statistics of any kind

Third-Party Services

The extension uses no analytics, no crash reporting, and no remote code. Every script it runs is included in the package you install from the Chrome Web Store.

The only outbound requests are the searches described above, which you trigger yourself.

Advertising

The extension does not display any advertisements and does not use any advertising SDK.

In-App Purchases

The extension is free and contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Data Security

Your settings are stored by Chrome on your device. We have no access to them. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side data that could be exposed.

Children’s Privacy

The extension is not directed to children under 13. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Your Rights

• Export your settings: Save them to a file from the options page
• Delete your settings: Use “Reset to defaults” on the options page, or uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data
• Turn the extension off per site: Use the toolbar icon to disable gestures on any site

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
